The affordable 120 room resort provides all you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Resort amenities include an oceanfront restaurant and lounge, swimming pool with swim-up bar, tennis courts and fitness center, spa and beauty salon, conference room, and WiFi in some public areas. In addition, the resort offers daily fitness classes and activities. Families can also enjoy the Family Center with games and movies as well as the kid's pool and playground. The resort offers multiple meal plans including "no meals", "breakfast", or the "all-inclusive" plan. Each plan is clearly noted in the room name, so please carefully read the names to ensure you reserve the option you are interested in.
Located just 45 minutes from the international airport in Liberia, Playa Flamingo is one of the most convenient beach towns in Costa Rica. Visitors will find a peaceful small town with a few restaurants and shops near the resort. The sights, sounds, nightlife, and conveniences of Tamarindo are only 20 minutes away by car or taxi. Or you can find your way around the local market in the nearby fishing village of Brasilito.
Days are easy at the Flamingo Beach Resort. A walk across the small dirt road that separates the beach from the resort will lead you to the gorgeous beach area. The waves are small most of the year, making it a great beach for swimming, boogie boarding, and body surfing.
The large outdoor swimming pool is the center of attraction between the resort's buildings. Take a few laps and then take it easy at the swim up bar. The resort also offers an ocean view fitness center and lighted tennis courts. If you are looking for something more organized, you can sign up for one of the daily resort activities. The schedule varies daily, but offerings include yoga classes, water aerobics or games, eco walks, salsa dancing, and cocktail mixing classes.
The OnZen Spa is located onsite at the resort. For an additional fee, you can indulge in a variety of services including various massages, body treatments, and facials. All of which are designed for wellness, relaxation, and beauty.
The resort's Arenas Restaurant offers indoor dining and an outdoor patio with ocean views. Open daily; this restaurant serves a fusion of international and local cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Capriccios Pizza Bistro & Cafe serves coffee and pastries in the morning and is also open for pizza, pasta, and salads in the evenings. The rooftop Sunset Lounge will liven up your evenings with cold beers, tropical cocktails, and wines. Regular hours are from 3 - 10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 3 pm - 12 am on Friday and Saturday. The Magallanes Pool Bar is a swim up bar, open from 10 am - 6 pm daily. NOTE: All hours and availability are subject to change. The rooftop bar or other specific areas are sometimes rented for private events.
The 120 tastefully decorated rooms at Flamingo Beach Resort offer modern amenities and local decor. All provide air-conditioning, cable television, mini-fridge, safe deposit box, coffee maker, hair dryer, and more. Please refer to the Amenities Section for a complete list of what is included in each room category. The Economy Rooms and Standard Rooms can accommodate up to four people with either king or two double beds. These rooms provide good value, and typically have views to the gardens, or resort grounds (including parking lot views from some rooms). Studio Rooms are larger and perfect for families. These rooms do not have great views but do have a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave and counter with stools. Also, these rooms have two double beds and a full-size sofa bed. Situated on the second and third floors, the Pool View Rooms are the most popular, offering a balcony and views to the landscaped grounds. The Ocean View Suites can accommodate up to six guests. These rooms feature a private ocean view balcony, living room with sofa bed, kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, and a separate bedroom with either two double beds or a king size bed. The Presidential Suite has two bedrooms, king bed in the master bedroom, and two double beds in the second bedroom. There are two bathrooms, a living room with sofas, kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave, and private patios overlooking the pool and gardens. The spacious Honeymoon Suite is on the ground level with a separate living room, luxurious bathroom, and Jacuzzi-bath.

Overall, beautiful place with great pool, beach, etc. However, there was nothing to do at night and all restaurants and bars closed very early. Taking a taxi to somewhere with a club was very expensive from here so overall the daytime rating is great but the evening there is not much to offer for young people.

The staff was not personable at all. We got there and waited awhile before we were even greeted. The plus was the bed was very comfortable and it had a large patio. Our bathroom was not impressive at all. We actually had a shower which would keep changing to the bath I had to call twice to have someone look at it and then just dealt with it. Was not really much to offer at the hotel and the breakfast was very limited. The beach was quiet which was nice and there was not much around this location but there was a rental car company in walking distance so we walked and rented a car to go into the city and driving around which was cool. But the overall hotel experience was not impressive at all.

Great way to end our vacation at an all-inclusive. Took a catamaran ride that included open bar, snacks, lunch, snorkeling, paddle boarding, music, and a beautiful sunset!!! Awesome crew!! Saw some large turtles, tuna; they even tried to take us out a bit further to see some whales!!

The only complaint I have about the hotel is that the shower/bath water is lukewarm. Everything else is excellent. We chose the all-inclusive option and it was nice that we could order off of the menu or eat at the buffet. The drinks and the food was good. The pull was huge and never too crowded.

Great place and location, would stay again. food was great. Only issue we had was one worker at the front desk was rude and unhelpful, but literally the only person our whole trip that was any issue.

We were frustrated by the lack of transparency in the All Inclusive package, since we were not told until day 2 that certain drinks were not included in the package. However, the proximity to the beach made up for it.

Appreciated the upgrade to a huge, beautiful King suite with ocean view. Staff was not overly friendly. Good breakfast and lunch buffet. Service at the Sunset lounge/restaurant was poor at dinner. Not an adults-only resort, so screaming children by the pool can be annoying.

Even though the hotel wasn't packed we were given ground floor room by parking lot. There were only a few rooms without balconies or patios and those are the rooms they gave us. Very musty smell in those rooms. The hotel was nice and service was good, but make sure you ask for balcony or patio. Those rooms had views and did not smell musty.

Love the food. The chocolate cake is to die for!!! Yum Yum!! Great location on a beautiful beach. Love the sandy beach with no rocks when you go into the surf. The dive shop was really helpful - Loved Celine. The family center was a great spot to hang out in at the end of the day to watch a movie or play pool.

This was our first experience with an all-inclusive resort. We are not certain we would do it again, as it seemed a little restrictive with only certain drinks and food. Staff was mixed between grumpy and excellent, so not sure how to rate that. Overall, the hotel was very nice and location next to the beach was perfect.

The initial view when you enter the resort is beyond words. This was a great place to end our vacation on. We enjoyed the pool, beach, ocean, and all the other amenities.

Our rooms overlooked a parking lot so a nicer view would have been good but we were only there a couple nights so it was ok. Everything else was very nice. Loved the beach there. Bar service was excellent and the food very good.

The hotel and food was OK. Fortunately the beach was directly across the street and made for a very nice stay. Plus I really liked that Flamingo Beach was a lot quieter than Coco or Tamarindo Beaches
