This is a wonderful little hotel for birdwatchers. It's quiet and off the beaten path. Birds were everywhere. We had a great time just watching them from our room and from the breakfast area. We also saw a troop of monkeys and colorful dart frogs. We were in a Deluxe Room the first couple of nights. You can hear the sounds of the jungle loud and clear but you can also hear other guests as these rooms are close to one another and the windows in the front are screened. We changed to a Casita for the remainder of the stay, which was much quieter. It is also more spacious, with a basic kitchen area. The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the trail through the jungle. Breakfasts were delicious. The gardens and forest around the hotel are stunning and the views to Lake Arenal were gorgeous.
