Magical start to our vacation. John Jimenez gave our family an incredible day tour and made our first full day in Costa Rica spectacular!

An oasis! Our room was spectacular, the grounds were amazing. A great end to our stay in Costa Rica!

BEST BATHROOMS IN THE WORLD! This hotel is absolutely amazing. We wished we could have stayed longer. I could have sit on our balcony and enjoyed the forest view and sounds of animals all day. Hummingbirds are everywhere. We signed up for the evening frog tour and got an unexpected up close and personal sloth experience with an actual awake sloth. That was probably my kids' highlight of our whole trip. The fishing ended at 4:30 but we got there at 4:36 and the guy stayed longer to let us fish. Tip: Get room service for breakfast so you can enjoy the view from your balcony while you eat. The waterfall path is lovely, but wear bug spray! I got eaten up by some sort of mite waiting for the hotel shuttle at the end of the trail. It doesn't look buggy, but they have sneaky bugs.

The room is beautiful, particularly the bathroom. They could use some comfortable chairs in the room.

There were too many steps and no elevator. Tom and I both have trouble climbing steep hills and steps and had to stop a lot to catch our breath. I wish we had known how many steps there were to get to and from the room, the restaurant, and the waterfalls. We did love the place and the staff was great as was the food. I just think you need to let people know who are booking about the step issue.

Beautiful lodge with waterfalls and animals galore. They should provide a free breakfast, but we loved everything else.

On our arrival, we went to eat lunch while our room was finished. Once we got back in our room, it began to rain right on thru midnight. We did not get outside. This was probably not as welcoming the 2nd time around since it was just a Stopover to the airport the next day.

Our room at the Peace Lodge was wonderful. We had a jacuzzi outside on our balcony plus another jacuzzi in our bathroom which also had a Waterfall plus shower or an inside shower. The rooms was done with lots of wood & the view outside towards Poas volcano was gorgeous. We especially liked the on-grounds aviary, butterfly garden, hummingbird feeding and the feeding of the big cats/felines. We got up close to the sloths & fed the toucans & hummingbirds. It was a wonderful experience, but be prepared for Many steps & lots of walking.

We had been spoiled by single room treehouse and bungalows, so having someone above us and hearing them walk around was irritating at first. But we quickly adjusted. These rooms are amazing and over-the-top with accommodations! The views from the private balconies are impressive. The park is an all-day excursion! We enjoyed feeding the toucans and sloths, and watching the monkeys. The cats appeared lethargic and unhappy.
Incredible food at the restaurants. The wait staff is professionally trained and the food is fantastic. The best meals we had on the trip were here at Tortillas and Vista Poas. The many steps to get anywhere did have me worried, but I adjusted and felt like I improved my health along the way. :-D I would recommend the upper level room, both for the noise reduction, convenience (steps), and perhaps a bit better view. Though I'm sure all of the rooms have fantastic views. Breathtaking. I did have to take some nature remedies made for altitude as I became nauseous that high up in the mountains. But they worked right away and I stayed on them while there.

Beautiful hotel! Did not realize how close it was to Poas Volcano. That would have been a nice addition to our trip while we were there, but everything we did do was great. Loved the waterfalls along the river, and all the animals in and around the refuge.

I tell everyone who has kids that they MUST stay here at the end of their trip. Two nights here was the perfect amount of time. The whole family loved it and it was great to be so close to the airport on our final day. The rooms are positively luxurious. The breakfast buffet is outstanding. The special treatment given to overnight guests by the property staff is wonderful. I wasn't sure what this place would be like, but am so glad we came. It was a wonderful way to end the trip. Glad we saved it for the end and didn't come here first, because every other place would pale in comparison.

Wonderful

Loved all the things to do on site

Two nights was more than sufficient for a stay. The falls and park are impressive. The restaurant was average. We had to return one meal as the marinade was inedible and clearly had reacted badly during preparation. The house keeping was poor. The staff lacked good leadership and appeared very casual in their approach towards guests. The "tropical" bathrooms are great fun, however each room has interconnecting doors with the neighboring room and therefore each and every sound is audible which is not a pleasant experience with the wrong neighbors. Overall an interesting and fun stop over as an alternative to a city hotel prior to departure.

very nice and helpful staff! They even sent back the pants that I forgot there!
Will go back there in the future!

Excellent. We loved the entire park, including the trails to the waterfalls, exhibits, tours, extra night-time frog tour, location of our balcony at tree-top level to bird-watch from the balcony, amazing butterfly garden and educated staff there, gift shop, etc. The restaurant for dinner was excellent, but we would have appreciated some additional lighter fare options for dinner (better options for children). Overall excellent- we would visit and stay here again.
