The Hidden Canopy Treehouses Boutique Hotel is a unique upscale eco-friendly hotel located in Monteverde. The hotel is one of our favorites in Costa Rica and always tops the list for guest reviews. Amenities of Hidden Canopy include: hiking trails, jungle view, lounge area, library, DVD movie collection, board games and cards, private parking. The hotel also offers guests complimentary access to wireless internet as an added convenience.
A stop by one of the area cloud forest reserves is a must for anybody traveling to Monteverde. There are several to choose from including the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve and the Curi Cancha Reserve. Each of these reserves are excellent for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Visitors also come to Monteverde for activities like: canopy zipline, hanging bridges, ATV tours, night tour, tram, guided tours, birdwatching, ecological park, biking, hiking, visit waterfalls, horseback riding, species exhibits, coffee farm tour and other unique eco-tourism activities.
Though there are many things to do in Monteverde, you can also just stay at the Hidden Canopy and explore the trails or enjoy the peaceful environment.

We loved this place. I was trying to figure out a way to stay another day. So beautiful. Creative breakfasts. Jen quietly listened to our needs and days plans and just took care of everything - made restaurant reservations for us, reservations at Selvatura. We didn’t ask her to, she just did and it smoothed things out for us. The room was AMAZING. So comfortable and well thought out.

Very welcoming, beautiful room, great breakfast! Definitely would not recommend though if you want the real Costa Rica experience as this hotel felt more geared towards Americans. Really appreciated the help with tours and that the cost to town for dinner was covered. Evening cocktail hour was amazing!

Amazing spot! Loved staying at the Treehouse. We loved breakfast everyday, happy hour looking out into the forest and that Jen got us rides into town every night. The owners went above and beyond to welcome us and help us book any activities we were interested in. I would highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely the best! I have never stayed in such an amazing place and the host and hostess were super accommodation, pleasant, and always made a point of visiting with everyone in the dining room at breakfast and "happy hour". Their guide for the night tour and cloud forest day tour was amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable; even came at breakfast and set up his scope so we could view the hummingbirds and other birds and used the scope to take pictures with our phones. I would definitely stay there again. Expensive but so worth it!

I wish there was an option to put 11 as our satisfaction level. Jennifer was the most gracious host, we knew we were in good hands no matter what we were doing. The treehouse was absolutely amazing!!! I think it was my favorite place of the 3. If I ever make it back to Costa Rica I will go out of my way to stay here again. I cannot recommend this spot enough. Jennifer even had crutches on hand when one of was injured and needed them. Such a special place- loved it!

Superb accommodation which you can't fault for the wow factor. Owner lovely . Very expensive even in the off season for effectively a B&B. Remote from the town so had to get taxis for meals etc.

The house was awesome, the staff super friendly. The owner gives however an impression of a very strict environment (strict rules). Overall, we were expecting something more for the price. It's way too expensive.

Again, not aware of line item cost here, but would love to know what it cost us to stay in what was probably the best hotel experience in all of our travels worldwide. Loved every aspect of it! The most gorgeous room, perfect setting, excellent food and service. The night nature walk led by Koki was a special treat. We saw lots of stuff. And Jen, of course, seems to be a TripAdvisor favorite. Quite the character, and an ideal fit for a magical place such as this. Would recommend to our most discriminating friends!

Amazing hotel, only 6 private rooms. When we were there is poured non stop for 4 days with 100mph winds due to a local storm but was still awesome and highly recommended.

This is a wonderful experience. The tree house (Neverland) was stunning and exceeded our expectations. The hanging bridges nearby was amazing rainforest. The meals were delicious, tea and drinks, hot chocolate were delicious in the cold weather. The owner was very friendly and met our every request. The million dollar views high above the rainforest was stunning.

Fabulous! The staff, the view, the location, the food! So special to surprise my daughter with birthday balloons and a cake and song! Very wonderful. slight issue with a squirrel trying to eat into our treehouse, but we told them in the morning and it was fixed when we returned from our days adventure.

This place is AMAZING! I am so glad that Gretchen suggested it. We had no idea what to expect and it exceeding any thoughts we might have had. Our son and I both took turns being sick so that took away from enjoying every moment. Jenn is great at giving help, advice, etc and was so helpful in our sickness. She helped in ordering in food, getting a taxi, and anything we needed. She is friendly and efficient. The food was amazing and we all loved tea time! This is a place that will be a favourite in our minds when we think of travel and we absolutely recommend it!!!

Beautiful hotel. Jane King is super organized and loves being a terrific hostess. Her staff, especially Gio are kind, informative and make the stay extra special. Cocktail hour is wonderful. Really enjoyed the Monteverde area.

What more can be said about this place. We very. Much appreciated that your agency was agreeable to us cancelling a booked guided bird trip so that we could depart on a trip a bit later in day, not missing breakfast which is a highlight of the day, but also allowing us to go out with Koke who is an amazing naturalist and birder.

Unfortunately, it was blustery the entire time we were in Monteverde, but the essence of the hotel, the staff, Jen, and others staying there made the experience rather homey. My 19 year old nephew would have liked more adventure, but I respect Koki's decision that hikes were too dangerous....especially, after talking to a couple that went hiking and talked about how dangerous it was. They watched a tree fall right near them and had to go off the path (watching every step for dangerous animals). The hotel staff as so accommodating and recommended a wonderful(!) coffee/cocoa/sugar cane tour. And, the animals that we couldn't see in the wild, we were able to see behind glass at the frog museum and butterfly museum. I toured with your guidebook in hand and I must say tHat EVERY species that we saw, it was identified in your brochure!!!

The best place where we stayed in our 13 days in Costa Rica.
Very personalized care by Jennifer King and her staff, and she took time out of her schedule to spend with us in the evenings for Tea time.
Rivendell tree house was superb, with views all the way to the Gulf of Nicoya, expansive views of the cloud forest and the bedrooms nestled in the midst of the trees.
My son was sick on the day we arrived there and the staff took extra care of us and we did not have half the trouble that we may have encountered elsewhere.
Highly recommended!!!

I can't tell you how amazing this hotel was. We felt so welcomed the minute we arrived. Bags were taken care off, drinks were severed and staff made us feel very special. I especially liked the fact that tipping wasn't supposed to be done every time we went into the main house or every time staff came to our room. Jennifer said that if we wanted to leave a tip, we could leave it at the end. We left $140 for our three nights there and thought it was well worth it.

After the drive from La Fortuna this was an oasis and Jen and Alex and staff were nothing short of fantastic. Had no trouble complying with the house rules of daily cocktail and "eat dessert first". Room was the best we experienced throughout our stay and the bed was super comfortable. Liked the cool nights and breakfast was really nice. Owner Jen really made us feel at home. Would request to spend more time here in the future - a day to just relax and do as little as possible. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Can't say enough good about this place. The loading was perfect, Jenn and her staff were beyond any expectations. We used Jenn's guides - Koky and Roy - and did a night tour as well as the cloud tour. I would always recommend these guides for knowledge and super nice people. We also did the San Luis Coffee tour which I found very interesting and well worth the trip. The roads are bumpy and rough but well worth all the trips.

Jennifer was excellent and really had her act together as the proprietor of a hotel. She just seemed to have all the bases covered all the time. Only problem with room was that it had no closets, but we adjusted.

Jenn and her staff were awesome! It started out right with welcome drinks and a cozy atmosphere. The breakfasts here were delicious. Happy hour with drinks, snacks and desserts were perfect. We had a blast. Our tree house was wonderful with a great koi pond and garden area. Fabulous sunsets and rainbows.

This is the most special of special places. The view is great; the hummingbird feeders are great. The water flows and koi pond are peaceful. The staff is fantastic. The food is superb. But the best part is owner Jenn. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is just right. I highly recommend this. Each room is unique and our Rising Sun room was spacious.
