The hotel is nice. The gem suites are underneath the dining room so you hear chairs scraping and if they have live music that too. It all quietens down around 9 though so not too bad. The room was nice otherwise. The little patio was nice to sit on and watch hummingbirds.
The restaurant was good, and had some great meals so we didn’t go into town to eat. The waitresses and waiters were good and attentive, and remembered allergies after the first meal.
There are several trails around the hotel to walk and look for animals. There’s a supermarket and other shops in easy walking distance, and the town center for souvenirs and restaurants a little further but still walkable.

Wonderful hotel, would definitely stay there again.

Great property. Our room had a beautiful balcony. No Tv's in the rooms. Gourmet breakfast is included, specialty coffees are not.

Great food. Overpriced given the size of the rooms.

Lovely gardens and pool and great food

We were supposed to get a King size bed but we got 2 beds that were probably smaller than queen beds. Very uncomfortable

Very nice but very expensive.

The grounds are beautiful, the restaurant was amazing and close enough to walk to restaurants in town.

Monteverde was our favorite. Easy walk to into town, watched the Super Bowl at Amigos. Only drawback was mist was so heavy on Sunday it was almost raining.

Excellent hotel, with butterfly cage and some lovely quiet spots where you can sit out in the fresh air. Restaurant is amazing; an outstanding chef. Other restaurants in town are good and so there are options if you don't want to spend £40.00 per head every night.

Loved our room location and porch. Very comfortable and clean. Staff always helpful and friendly.

I cannot say enough about the Monteverde Lodge and Gardens! What a jewel of a place. We truly felt like a part of their family while we were there. The staff all knew our names from the 1st night. They anticipated our needs as well. We ate lunch outdoors in gardens on the day we arrived. The next morning we went out to breakfast and they had already set up the same table for us in the gardens. This was the best staff I encountered on my entire trip. If I were to move to Costa Rica and live at a hotel, it would without a doubt be the Monteverde Lodge and Gardens.
The rooms were without air conditioning, but that really wasn't an issue because the temperature there only reached the low 70s. With the balcony door open (screen closed though due to bugs) the temperature was great. Also, this resort was right in the middle of the cloud forest. Our 2nd story balcony overlooked the canopy and one morning we even had a family of Capuchin monkeys no more than 25 ft from our balcony. What a beautiful place!

It took us a while to adjust to this hotel when compared to Hotel Silencio del Campo but in the end we came to appreciate all that it had to offer. The rooms themselves were adequate but not special in any way....no patio or seating other than the beds. However, the outside common spaces were wonderful....the sitting room overlook8ng the grounds, the butterfly garden, the pool area, and even the library room inside. We were able to take full advantage of these spaces and really appreciated them. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and the restaurant was good.

Small and personal. Very good.

The food at the hotel wasn't too great but otherwise we had a great stay.

My only disappointment is that we did not stay longer. Would have enjoyed a few more days. Jeffry (at the bar and breakfast service) deserves many accolades. A very peaceful and quiet environment. Excellent location to town.

Hotel was very nice. The hotel restaurant was not very good.

Hotel was very nice, staff was nice, the restaurant was a bit overpriced.

Without a doubt my favorite hotel in Costa Rica. Absolutely beautiful grounds, spotless rooms and the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was included each morning and was cooked to order. We ended up eating lunch and dinner there as well because we loved it so much! I really enjoyed the yoga spot off at the edge of the forest and I liked being able to walk into town (less than 10 minutes). My only wish was that we stayed longer!

really great place with great food

The room was much smaller than at Costa Verde, but it was clean & nice. The restaurant seemed much more formal & they helped teach us more Spanish. Not much to do in the town, but it was just enough time.
