The newly reimagined and remodeled Boutique Hotel Lagarta Lodge offers unique and stylish lodging at Nosara. The hotel also offers free boat transfers to Playa Nosara which can be set up at the front desk and free shared transfers to Playa Pelada and Guiones every 2 hours, starting at 8 am and ending at 4 pm.
The Lagarta Lodge sits on a hill overlooking the delta of the Rio Nosara, Rio Montana and Playa Nosara - one of Costa Rica's best off-the-beaten-path surfing beaches. You can cross the rivers during low tide to access the dark sand beach. The hotel is also within a 15-minute walk of the beautiful Playa Pelada, or both beaches can quickly and easily be accessed by car. The lodge's private 90-acre nature reserve is home to countless animals and beautiful flora. Clearly marked nature trails allow you to walk through the jungle and experience the magic of the mangroves and subtropical dry forest.
The town of Nosara is well-known for its laid-back vibe. Surf shops, yoga studios, and restaurants line the unpaved streets. The beach is undoubtedly the top attraction, with world-class surfing and raw beauty. Nosara is also home to plenty of wildlife, including howler monkeys that add to the intrigue. The nearby Playa Ostional is one of the primary nesting sites for Olive Ridley Turtles, which can arrive by the hundreds to lay eggs on certain nights between July and November. The baby turtles hatch 45 days later with an equally impressive display as thousands of the young turtles make their way to the sea for the first time.
