This is a unique expansive property, with lush landscaping and a lot to do without leaving. It was nice to be able to go hiking right on the property. Our room was large and comfortable. The food and drinks were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A bit more rustic, but the change of pace was very enjoyable

Fabulous self contained hotel with lots of activities !

The hotel bed was very very uncomfortable, so hard with no give. The grounds were very nice.

It's a great hotel, and the one day adventure pass they offer is our favourite tour of the trip. I wish they would have a hairdryer available to use in our room but other than that it was awesome!

there were rats outside of room and that it why i give 7 for cleanliness. otherwise, room was great and very clean. I love this hotel and the area and what it offers! could have stayed here another night to enjoy area more. highly recommend.

Unfortunately, not the best hotel. Looks antiquated and the restaurant is not very good. Went out to eat in Liberia several times.

Great place! I loved that the adventures were on site!

Definitely would stay here again and again! Absolutely fantastic!

Food options were amazing. Rooms a bit dated and run down. Sheets need replacing. I would stay here again as its so well located for activities, but would have preferred a little more upscale attention to detail.

We had a great time at the Hacienda. So many activities to choose from! We visited the hot springs, the National Park, a couple of the water falls, and went horse back riding and tubing. There's a free shuttle to take you to and from the places of interest on the massive site, but it's not very frequent, so invest in a little planning. We went in August and there was no need to book anything in advance, everything was available the day before. There really isn't anything else apart from the Hacienda so your only option is to eat there which does add up if you need to feed the family.

Hacienda Guachipelin was a dream! The room was super clean, we were met by security late at night with our room key and we were shown directly to our room and were assisted with our bags (again in the drizzle). This was super helpful as we would never have found the room on our own. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice, the windows allowed plenty of ventilation and the A/C was stellar the few times we needed it. We appreciated having the TV in the room but never used it - WE ARE IN BEAUTIFUL COSTA RICA! :) The morning after we arrived, we were lovingly greeted by some furry friends that we have lasting memories with! Charlie is the local ground pup and his girlfriend, Negra, were quite the couple! We enjoyed watching them romp around the grounds.

Remote.

The grounds were very nice. The food was quite expensive, but good. We didn't like the biting flies. Also the pool was too shallow for swimming, and the water cold. The room was average.

Hotel was perfectly fine and staff friendly and helpful. However, our 2 rooms were literally next to the horse stables so that at the crack of dawn the horses were right next to us clomping on the concrete about 2 meters from the room and making horsey noises. The safes did not work, but the staff was quick to respond and remedy the problem. Hair dryer provided by front desk upon request.
Restaurant was well done, as it is buffet style and food was perfectly OK. Dont come here for fine dining - come to be well fed.
The hotel map is pretty weak if looking for hiking trails...we just ended up walking the roads for an early morning hike, even after asking the front desk for advice.

Better communication would help, Hot water (solar) idea is great but may not be very practical

We knew the lodging wouldn't be top notch but it was fine. The food was great one night and so so the rest of the time. We ordered a la cart and so it wasn't a bad value. What was GREAT was the setting and hiking. Awesome waterfalls and the thermal baths were terrific, an unexpected surprise. A lot is included in the cost of staying at Guachepilin so it is a good deal. Next time I'd stay 3 nights to do more hiking.

Enjoyed our stay but the food was average.

The room could have been updated a little and the beds could have been more comfortable. The staff was amazing - very helpful and attentive We had a good stay there! We liked that there were additional hikes to take at the resort - it was great

We had a great time there and loved the location.

This place was the best. In part because of the isolation, being out in nature, like Pachira, but better mainly because we were more able to explore on our own.

Friendly, competent staff! Excellent Restaurant
