Our room had a private courtyard with a fountain. We enjoyed a bottle of wine with our friends and had a great time. This hotel is very unusual, but in a very good way. Would definitely stay there again.

They upgraded us to a Suite. The staff was extremely friendly and overall they made us feel very welcome.

Restaurant was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the double beds were too small and made sleeping uncomfortable compared to queen/king beds.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel, with an impeccable staff. The gift shop offered some of the finest gifts and artifacts that we had seen in CR, and they were reasonably priced. The neighborhood did not lend itself to walking at dusk.

Again, we had a great experience at this hotel. We had dinner there that night and it was a very nice experience. The wait staff were very attentive and we enjoyed our dinner.

This hotel is amazing! You are welcomed by the staff with wonderfully warm smiles and they all very readily answer any questions you may have. From the doorman/security, concierge, dining staff -- this experience was A+ fantastic!

The hotel is very lovely in a very unimpressive part of town. (I don't know San Jose at all!) It was beautiful, clean, we liked our family suite & it was very comfortable for 1 night. It would have been nice to have a few choices for restaurants, because it was a bit formal for our children (21,18 & 15).

This one was a bit of a surprise. We were not expecting what we got.... one of the neatest places we have staid and we have traveled a bit through the world. Room was smallish ( we had their basic room) but very comfortable! The food..... outstanding! We were not eating breakfast there in the plan but we did just to see what they had to offer! STAY HERE if you can!

We requested a room change as the first room did not reflect the website description of a deluxe room with an adjoining courtyard. The hotel restaurant is excellent with a commendable wine list and most impressive interior. The food was of a high standard and the dining experience is memorable.
