Perched on a hilltop, the hotel does have its own ocean view and salt breezes, yet offers a welcome alternative to staying in the noisy hustle and bustle of the busy surf town. Guanacaste Province, found in the Pacific Northwest of Costa Rica, is famous for its beaches scattered along the outer edge of the Nicoya Peninsula. Whether on the beach or inland, there are many adventure activities easily within reach. The long stretch of Playa Tamarindo is a favorite among surfers, with great waves on one end of the beach and a quieter, rock free beach at the other for comfortable swimming. The town lines the beach, offering ocean front shops, bars, restaurants, often live music, nightlife, and the occasional wandering minstrels.
You can learn to surf, play in the ocean, go fishing, take a horseback ride down the beach, play golf, shop, and enjoy any number of adventure activities. You might like to try out an exciting zip-lining adventure through the tropical forest, go snorkeling or sail into the sunset. If it’s wildlife you’re after, try a guided riverboat cruise into the estuary to see water birds, nests, monkeys, and plenty of crocodiles, depending on what’s visible the day of your visit.
Back at Los Altos de Eros, there are plenty of things to do as well. You can lounge in the infinity pool, sip a delicious umbrella drink, indulge in one of the many spa services, hike the 5 kilometer trail, use the outdoor gym equipment, enjoy a yoga session, or even attend a cooking class! The in-house chef can accommodate any dietary needs with tasty custom meals. Freshly caught fish is always available and cooked to perfection. The breakfast buffet is over the top, often including chocolate croissants along with many hot options, fresh fruit, juices, and coffee.
The Yoga Shala features certified international instructors and all six hotel rooms can be rented out for a private yoga retreat experience. Hali Love, one of the hotel’s co-owners, is also a certified subconscious restructuring counsellor & Ayurveda Consultant and has created several successful yoga studios and retreats around the world. You can bring your own yoga instructor or bring a group and sign up for one of Hali’s exclusive offerings such as Yoga Immersion, Yoga & Surf, Personal Healing, Weight Loss, or Chanting & Meditation. These 2 night/3 day guided retreats include all customized meals.
Los Altos de Eros can also be entirely rented out for small wedding parties complete with wedding packages that can sleep up to 12 hotel guests and comfortably accommodate a total of 35 wedding guests. They even have an elopement package!!!
