NOTE: Unlike other Tortuguero lodges, the Mantus Hotel does NOT include transportation to the Lodge from San Jose, so this must be reserved separately. When transportation is added, it takes approximately four hours by ground (from San Jose, other destinations will vary) and another 1 - 1.5 hours by boat (25-pound luggage per person weight limit). Please also note that the entrance fee to Tortuguero National Park ($17 per adult, $5 for kids ages 5 - 11, fee for younger children - subject to change) and the Turtle Museum ($2 per person - subject to change) are NOT included.

Manatus Hotel
You will go on a guided walk through the history-rich town of Tortuguero. This is a typical Caribbean coastal fishing village settled over time by a blend of cultures coming to Costa Rica. Your guide will walk you through the town so you can see how the present day villagers live and work in this friendly, colorful town. The 1-hour tour includes a bilingual guide.

Manatus Hotel
This is a morning boat tour following canals carved through the dense rainforest within Tortuguero National Park, one of the best places in Costa Rica to go birding and see a diversity of wildlife. You will go on a 2 - 3-hour riverboat ride by covered pontoon boat through the jungle-lined canals, which are located within the national park. Your boat captain and bilingual guide will point out all the visible forest-dwelling animals, plants and birdlife that live within this unique water and woodland eco-system including, but not limited to: monkeys, sloths, crocodiles, various species of amphibians and reptiles, plus many bird species. All visitors to the region must pay the entrance fee to the national park, which is $17 per adult, $5 per child between the ages of 5 - 11, and free for children 4 years or less. The entrance fee must be paid in person upon arrival to Tortuguero and is not included in your stay at the lodge.
