The Arenal Paraiso Canopy Zipline is an exciting and different way to view a rainforest. It is quite literally a flight over a river canyon located between La Fortuna and Lake Arenal, Costa Rica. The starting point is at the Arenal Paraiso Hotel which is situated right in front of Arenal Volcano. Your expert guide who is a professional with the most up-to-date safety equipment, will help you navigate across 12 platforms and 11 cables at heights up to 80 meters (approximately 260 ft) and lengths of roughly 350 meters, or about ¼ mile. The canopy zipline at Arenal is so close to the volcano, you not only have an opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of the forest and its inhabitants, but also experience the magnitude of the volcano itself.
The tour begins with transportation from your hotel in the town of La Fortuna and surrounding area, including the Chachagua Rainforest Hotel. You will be taken to the Arenal Paraiso canopy zipline where you will be fitted with the most modern safety equipment and instructed by your bilingual guide exactly what to do to insure your experience is the best possible. As you glide over the rainforest canopy, the adrenaline will rise not only because of the sensation of flight, but also due to the overwhelming beauty of the land and wildlife. The adventure ends at the Arenal River which borders the rainforest. A tractor ride through the rainforest will take you back to the reception area.
The tour includes transportation to and from your hotel, professional guide, and all safety equipment. The entire experience takes from 2 to 3 hours. One way transportation to Arenal Paraiso takes from 15 to 45 minutes depending on the location of your hotel. It is recommended that you wear long pants and fully enclosed shoes. Bring your sunscreen, insect repellent, rain gear, and camera. The safety helmets are equipped with hardware to attach a camera to record the experience.

Totally did not expect to have to hike before and after the ziplines, I guess I missed that in the activity description. Outside of that, the rest of the event was amazing and I had a blast. Guides were experienced, great at giving directions, friendly, and entertaining. Highly recommend.

These guides are very hard working. We were happy to have only four people on our tour; more than that plus the two guides would have felt really crowded on the small platforms. I really can't believe I did this, really thrilling.

The guides for the zipline were the best. We had so much fun! We felt safe but it was a thrilling and amazing experience. We got some many videos and photos, and saw a sloth up close.

We had two guides for this excursion and they were awesome. I was skepical at first as it did not look like we were high enough up in the mountains to be ziplining over the jungle, but I was wrong. The one guide took our phone and took a large amount of photos as this is impossible to do while you are the one on the zipline. We had one girl in our group who was a nervous wreck and the guides were very patient with her and she ended up having a lot of fun.

It was great but I have been ziplining where you don't have to wear that thing on your hand or keep yourself straight. I felt less safe that I had to be a part of slowing myself down or keeping myself straight. I twisted a lot on the line and would have liked to just hang loose

Zipline in the rain! Was a bit nervous but at the end felt like the rain made it more exciting and fun. Guides made sure that we felt safe all the time and kept us laughing. Encouraged us to have fun and we did as well as the other people on our tour that morning. Had so much fun and felt like it was a once in a lifetime experience!
