Have you ever wondered what it would be like to fly through the jungle and see the world from a bird’s perspective? Now is your chance on the Canopy- Flight of the Toucan tour. With 15 platforms and 8 zip line cables, it’s enough to get fully immersed in the Costa Rican jungle and get your adrenaline pumping at the same time.
Your professional, bilingual guides are all highly trained for your safety and also highly educated about the nature in Costa Rica. While this is an adrenaline pumping adventure, it is also an educational experience, inviting travelers to learn about the Costa Rican jungle and its wildlife. It involves a moderate hike to the start of the zip line course and is appropriate for all ages, including adventurous children!
The Hacienda Baru Biological Center is the perfect place to host a zip line tour. The property spans over 815 hectares, encompassing the primary and secondary rainforest as well as wetlands and lowlands bringing a multitude of wildlife into the area. Built with much respect for the surrounding environment, this zip line course blends in seamlessly with lush, untouched terrain bringing excitement and education to the thousands of people who come here.
Upon arrival to Hacienda Baru, your guide will take you on a moderate hike up to the zip line cables, pointing out any animals or birds you might see along the way. Next you will be suited up with harnesses, gloves and helmets before adventuring out on your first “zip”. You will be supported by more than one guide as one guide stays at the first platform to hook you up to the cable, and another will be waiting to receive you at the end of the line.
As you become more comfortable on the cables you’ll likely get more adventurous. The guides will show you some techniques that can have you gliding across with creative flare- ziplining backwards or Superman style are some of the daring favorites.
The hike can take up to 1 hour so please be sure to dress in comfortable hiking clothes and wear enclosed hiking boots or running shoes. Transportation is not included on this tour and all participants must meet at the main office. From there, your guide will take you on a hike to the zip line course.
No transportation is needed from Hacienda Baru. Transportation is not included from other area hotels. It is not suggested for children under 5 years of age.

Excellent. Very fun tour guides who were very accommodating to every person's needs. We felt very safe and enjoyed the tour was a combination of a rainforest hike and ziplining. Extras like the frozen washcloths at the end of the tour was true bonus. Great for adults and kids. I would do this tour again.
