Overview

Imagine ziplining over not one, but eleven different waterfalls, hiking over a hanging bridge high above a canyon, rappelling down to a roaring waterfall, and swimming in a spring fed natural pool! It’s all possible in just one tour at Hotel Vista Golfo’s Adventure Park. With acres of pristine rainforest and a rushing river creating an array of cascading waterfalls, this nature park is one of the best known places for having an exciting outdoor adventure.

Specifically for guests staying at the hotel, the tour begins at the hotel’s reception area. Here you will meet your adventure guides who will drive you deep into the rainforest in rustic off-road vehicles. You’ll travel carefully for about 30 minutes over bumpy, rocky roads until you reach the top of a canyon.

You’ll be suited up in a high-quality harness and helmet as well as given gloves to use while ziplining. Your guides will go over safety rules and demonstrate the ease of the ziplining equipment. There are 25 steel cables of varying lengths that are joined by resting platforms high in the canopy.

Once you are up on the platform, overlooking a deep jungle canyon, one of the guides will hook your harness onto the first cable. You’ll count to three and off you’ll go gliding high above the canyon with incredible views surrounding you. In the distance, you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Nicoya Peninsula coastline.

When you approach the next platform, another guide will ensure your safe arrival, release you from the cable and hook you up to the next cable. The first few cables will be shorter to help you relax into the experience.

As the cables get longer, you’ll likely spend more time looking around as you zip through the forest, especially admiring each of the eleven beautiful cascading waterfalls passing below you.

The two guided rappels are very similar to ziplining but instead of gliding across, you’ll be gliding down. You will be shown how to release your rope little by little making your way down the cliff. With the support of two guides, you’ll begin your descent with one guide at the top, helping you get started, and another who will hold your safety rope and encourage you along to the bottom.

At a certain point, you’ll reach a beautiful thundering waterfall that pours into a refreshing spring-fed swimming hole. Here you can take a break and go for a swim or just relax at the edge of the river.

This nonstop 3-hour adventure tour includes professional, bilingual guides and high quality, well maintained equipment. This tour is only available to inside guests staying at the Hotel Vista Golfo, therefore transportation to the hotel is NOT necessary.

Please wear fully enclosed shoes (flip flops are not allowed), and a bathing suit under clothes that can get wet. You’ll want to be sure to have insect repellent, sunscreen and a waterproof camera. Note: there is a weight limit of 280 pounds for this tour.
