Why not combine an exhilarating zip lining experience with the charm of a bit of rustic history by choosing this tour located on a renovated 150 year old Costa Rican ranch? You’ll get the flavor of the past as you zip into the future from high in the tree canopy flying over beautiful vistas of expansive valleys, waterfalls and rivers.
You’ll be picked up and brought to the Pura Aventura welcome center, a modern rustic version of the remodeled 80 year old farm house. Surrounded by horses and corrals on this working ranch, you’ll discover a way of life still representing Costa Rican culture as you are introduced to your friendly, experienced bilingual guides.
After going over the safety rules, you’ll be led to the first platform where you will be helped into a zip lining harness before learning the basics. When you’re ready to go, your guides will hook you up to a cable and send you soaring through the tree tops. As you arrive at the second platform you’ll be assisted by another guide who will connect you to the next zip line. With 11 cables of varying heights and lengths and nearly 800 acres of primary old growth forest beneath you, you’ll be amazed at what you can see and experience from high up in the air.
You’ll be given the opportunity to do an assisted rappel and you’ll hike across a long swinging hanging bridge through the top of the forest canopy as well. In addition to the old growth forest, there are six rivers, two waterfalls and a series of natural springs running through the property. You’ll see tranquil pastures, colorful rolling hills and depending on the weather, you might even be able to catch a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean out in the distance.
Using double cables and pulleys and top of the line equipment, your experienced guides will ensure your safety so you can relax into the rhythms of exploring this jungle paradise from your bird’s eye vantage point. Your guides will also show you any available wildlife in the area on the day that you are visiting, which might include beautiful tropical birds or a family of monkeys. Nothing is guaranteed but there’s always a chance of a sighting. To make sure you remember your exciting adventure, your guides will be happy to use your camera to take photos of you as you zip from tree to tree.
Returning to the welcome center, you’ll say goodbye to your new Costa Rican friends as you take a last look at the rustic farm, the animals and the primary forests before boarding your transportation for the drive back to your lodging. This was a wonderful experience. I was surprised at how long it took to get to all the tour starting places but it really didn't matter.

Ziplining was very fun. We did have a few people in our group that slowed us down, but the staff was wonderful!
