Westin Playa Conchal Trip Itinerary As you step off the plane at Liberia International Airport, we will be there to meet you and provide transportation to the all-inclusive Westin Playa Conchal Resort, less than one hour away in the Pacific Northwest. Set on over 2,000 acres, the Westin complex includes an 18-hole, Par 71 designer golf course, refreshing swimming pools for after a day at the beach, an assortment of recreational activities for adults and kids alike with separate facilities for those desiring an adults-only or family-friendly experience. After exploring the beautiful crushed pink shell beach of Playa Conchal, you can double back through the hotel’s beach access and dip into the refreshing swimming pools or lounge under the white canvas beach umbrellas taking in the smell of the salt air and sound of the surf. You’ll have a full day to discover the resort’s many amenities as well as sample some of the fabulous food found in eleven onsite restaurants. After a day or two of free time luxuriating at the resort, get ready to hit the big time with an all-day combination adventure extravaganza!

Transportation will be provided to the Canyon Lodge headquarters, part of a private reserve located close to the volcanic Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Typically on this full day of adventure, you’ll start out riding horses to get a feel for the famous Guanacaste cowboy countryside. Next, you’ll zip across the forest canopy over the Colorado Canyon. After rappelling down to the cooling Colorado River, you’ll return by way of the canyon’s natural rock wall. After lunch you’ll shoot the rapids heading downriver on specially made whitewater inflatable tubes, ending the day at a volcanic hot spring to soak in the deliciously warm thermal waters and take a mud bath if you like. The order of events may change but the fun never stops.

Once back at the resort, you can enjoy cocktails and dinner at one of the many all-included gourmet restaurants featuring dishes from around the world as well as a taste of local fare. Please note, that some of the restaurants require reservations in advance and may have a dress code. You might like to partake in the live evening activities or stroll the grounds under the moonlight. If you miss the last call, you’ll find 24-hour room service with a limited bar menu. The next day is yours to do as you please, resting under the cabanas, playing a round of golf, getting in a game of tennis, keeping up your exercise routine at the fitness gym, or using some of the resort’s non-motorized sports equipment for some extra fun at the beach. You may want to splurge on one of the many available spa services either indoors, outdoors, or in the comfort of your own room. Families and kids are sure to enjoy the Kids’ Club outdoor playground, special pool, indoor game room plus board and video games, and a variety of movies. Often there is entertainment at night for kids as well. A special Juniors program at the golf course can help your child learn or improve their game on the greens. Use of the golf course, golf lessons, spa services, and some of the beach equipment cost extra. Due to the expansive grounds of the resort, complimentary electric shuttles will provide easy access for guests.

Next up, a relaxing half-day catamaran cruise aboard the Lazy Lizard will introduce you to the many remarkable seafaring animals, from water birds flying overhead diving down to catch a meal, to exploring the underwater world on a guided snorkeling tour at a deserted cove. Costa Rica’s northwestern coastline is one of the least developed shoreline areas accessible to tourists and therefore the waters are often quite clear for excellent viewing of colorful tropical fish living in their natural habitat. It is not uncommon to see turtles, flying rays, eels, and other forms of interesting undersea wildlife. Friendly dolphins like to swim alongside the boat and at certain times of the year, there may be whale sightings as these mighty leviathans migrate south to reproduce in the warm Pacific waters.

After another free day to relax and enjoy the resort’s ever-changing menu of activities, walk the beach or simply reflect on the beautiful experience of being in Costa Rica, you’ll pack up all your recently made memories and head back to the airport by way of our provided transportation services. A day to unwind and discover the Westin’s all-inclusive activities, restaurants, pools, and access to beautiful Playa Conchal, a shady, pink crushed shell beach with crystal clear water. Relax, you’ve arrived!

Day 3: Adventure Combo at Canyon Lodge (B, L, D)

You’ll be taken on a full day of Costa Rica’s best adventure activities, including horseback riding, ziplining, canyoning, rappelling, rock climbing, and whitewater tubing near Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Lunch will be provided, and you’ll finish by soaking in volcanic hot springs where you can paint yourself with mud!

Day 4: Another Free Day – Playa Conchal Beach (B, L, D)

You might like to play a game of golf or tennis, laze around the pool, set up camp at the beach with some of the resort’s beach toys, go hiking or participate in the resort’s changing menu of daily and nightly activities.

Day 5: Catamaran and Snorkeling Cruise – Lazy Lizard Sailing (B, L, D)

After hopping aboard the Lazy Lizard, you’ll cruise the unspoiled Guanacaste Province coastline, while the crew points out the visible bird and sea life that may accompany you today. You’ll stop at a deserted cove to go on a guided snorkeling adventure. Pool noodles and kayaks will also be available for your use on this half day trip. Generous drinks and a picnic lunch will be provided.

Day 6: Free Day – Playa Conchal Beach (B, L, D)

Your last full day in Costa Rica to enjoy the tropical breezes, sunshine, and fun activities. You could take a taxi to Playa Tamarindo to explore a more active beachfront with lots of surfing and shopping, or maybe you’d like to add an offshore fishing or scuba diving tour to your itinerary. An onsite spa offers a variety of rejuvenating services where you might indulge yourself in some last minute pampering.
