Upon your arrival in CR, our friendly driver will be waiting at the airport to provide your private transfer to the town of La Fortuna at the base of the Arenal Volcano. This exotic and colorful region is known as the adventure capital of Costa Rica!
Your adventures will begin at the Arenal Springs Resort and Spa, where you can enjoy onsite thermal hot springs pools and incredible volcano views! Over the next couple of days, you’ll be taken on a number of amazing excursions including a guided hike through the jungle at the base of the iconic volcano. You’ll also be able to choose either a gentle riverboat safari cruise or a thrilling whitewater rafting adventure. Of course, there will be plenty of ME time to relax and unwind in the hotel’s hot springs, indulge in a spa service, or explore the area on your own!
After a few days in the Arenal area, you’ll be on your way up to the mountainous Monteverde region to stay a couple of nights at the El Establo Mountain Hotel. Positioned on a hillside overlooking the jungle below, this rustic hotel provides a peaceful basecamp for exploring the mysterious Monteverde Cloud Forest. In Monteverde, you’ll have your choice of a high-speed zipline adventure or the slower pace of hiking the hanging bridges across the tree canopy of a giant old growth cloud forest.

Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica and on to Arenal Volcano!
Our representative will meet you at the Liberia International Airport and then provide a private transfer to Arenal Volcano near the town of La Fortuna. Here you’ll stay at the Arenal Springs Resort & Spa.

Day 2: Arenal Volcano Natural History and Nature Tour (B)
Enjoy an easy hike through the rainforest at the base of Arenal Volcano. Your bilingual naturalist guide will point out wildlife and tell the history of Costa Rica’s iconic volcano. Once back at the hotel, you can relax in the volcanic hot springs pools.

Day 3: Choice: Riverboat Safari or Rio Balsa Rafting (B, L)
You’ll have your choice of enjoying either a Riverboat Safari cruise or Rio Balsa Rafting adventure. The Riverboat Safari is in the Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, near the Nicaragua border, where you’ll have the opportunity to see exotic birds and wildlife from a covered pontoon boat. Rio Balsa Rafting provides a thrilling Class II and Class III rapids ride down one of Costa Rica’s most popular whitewater rafting rivers.

Day 4: Arenal Volcano to Monteverde (B)
The day starts off with a land transfer to Lake Arenal, where you and other travelers will take a scenic boat ride across the lake. When you reach the other side, you’ll continue with a land transfer to the mountains and cloud forests of Monteverde, where you will stay at the El Establo Mountain Hotel.

Day 5: Choice Aventuras: Canopy Hanging Bridges or Zipline (B)
Take your choice of either a Canopy Zipline Adventure or a Hanging Bridges hike through the treetops at the Aventuras Monteverde Park. The high-speed Canopy Zipline is an awesome way to soar through the forest from platform to platform. The Hanging Bridges offer a more relaxed way to observe the sights and sounds of the cloud forest canopy, and look for the animals that inhabit it.

Day 6: Monteverde to Playa Conchal (B, D)
A shared transfer will be provided taking you to the beachfront Westin Playa Conchal Resort and Spa in Guanacaste, where you’ll enjoy the all-inclusive accommodations for the remainder of your vacation.

Days 7 & 8: Enjoy the beach (All-Inclusive)
Playa Conchal is one of the prettiest beaches in Costa Rica, where you can relax by the beach and enjoy the resort amenities. If you wish to explore, we’d recommend checking out the nearby bustling town of Tamarindo, visit one of the national parks, or go snorkeling. The options are plentiful!
